Welcome to the Chorus for Change (GTR Choir) page. First of all, thank you so much to all those who took part. The Chorus for Change choir was an amazing coming-together of community choirs and individuals from right across the Govia Thameslink Railway (GTR) network, including people from Bedford, from the Cambridge area, Sussex and near Sevenoaks and Swanley.
This exciting mass choir performance took place at London Kings Cross on 7 March 2026 and was a fantastic community effort. Led by the effervescent Tia, with Declan too, on keyboard, part of the Workplace Choir Company, everyone got warmed up with fun clapping and chanting. Then we headed out to the concourse and sang through the medley and main song Shine not once but twice, lifting the spirits not only of the choir members but of everyone passing through Kings Cross station as well. With volunteers collecting donations, we were delighted that we gathered in lots of funding for Mind, the charity at the heart of the whole event.
GTR works closely with the mental health charity Mind, and this mass choir celebrated the huge benefits of singing for positive mental health. And as so often stated in medical studies, belting out a tune in a choir can enhance your mood, your immune system, your blood pressure, and reduce feelings of chronic pain!
Many thanks to all the fabulous community choir groups and individuals who took part – your contribution made the day!
